Do you have a great business idea that needs a team to help build it out? Are you interested in getting involved or learning about entrepreneurship? Does building a startup excite you? If yes, then Startup Weekend Buffalo is where you want to be this October.
What: Startup Weekends are 54-hour events where students, developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch startups.
When: October 24th – 66th at dig – the co-working space on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (640 Ellicott Street in downtown Buffalo)
Cost: $25 for full-time students; $50 for all others (includes all 7 of your meals for the weekend, coffee, assorted drinks, and water provided throughout, and a Buffalo Startup Weekend t-shirt)
Info: Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable. On average, half of Startup Weekend’s attendees have a background or interest in technology or design, the other half have a background or interest in other business areas, such as marketing, operations, and finance. Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over Saturday and Sunday, teams focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies, and building a viable product to demonstrate. On Sunday evening, teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of business and startup experts.
